Christmas tree earrings are a tried-and-true favorite design, not to mention quick and easy to make and sell. On a head pin, slide a cube bead, cone or flower cone bead, then stack margarita or loch rose beads in graduated sizes (largest first), with a bicone on top to represent the tip of the tree or the topper. But you aren't limited to an all-green color scheme. Mix it up with other colors like red, blue or purple. Add opulence with crystal and gold or silver tones. Go wild with coatings like AB or vitrail. Experiment with other materials like polymer clay or wood for a more laid-back vibe.
Angels radiate special symbolism, especially around the holiday season. Make a whole choir of angel earrings for holiday sales or personalize them for the special angels in your life.
String a drop-shaped bead onto a head pin for the body, then add angel wing beads, a round bead for the head and a rondelle halo. Choose from a host of divinely delightful materials and let your creativity take flight. Pearls--genuine, glass or crystal—will give your earrings a soft glow and subtle vintage aura. If you want more celestial sparkle, use crystal teardrops and enjoy the play of light as it shimmers off the facets. Make it trendy by using tassels for the body, whether premade or handmade with gleaming silk thread.
... will dance through your head as customers dip their hands into dozens of your delectable candy creations. Whip up a batch of quick and cute earrings to look like cellophane-wrapped sweet treats or candy canes.
Earrings resembling sugary sweets enveloped in crinkling cellophane will have Willy Wonka himself jealous . On a headpin, place shiny squares, rectangles, ovals, rounds or any shape on your wish list, between Czech glass flower cones to create earrings that look good enough to twist open and taste.
One of the most iconic holiday confections is the candy cane. Select Crystal Passions® crystal pearls, faceted rounds or bicones in red and white (or clear), string onto a headpin and gently shape into a curve. Finish with a loop for attaching embellishments or affix a bead to the end of the headpin with G-S Hypo cement. No need to stick to traditional red and white, either; these days, candy canes are manufactured in all kinds of colors just waiting to be used in your earring recipes.
... might be a pair of adorable present earrings topped with a beautiful bow. Who doesn't enjoy receiving an original and thoughtful present? Easy-to-make gift box earrings keep on giving each time they are worn.
Begin with a headpin, drop on a faceted crystal cube bead and add a metal-toned bow bead. Create designs with a flurry of imagination by personalizing earrings with sparkling embellishments added on top of the bows. Tie thin ribbon or colored wire around the cube bead and into a bow. Stack multiple graduated cube beads for a plethora of presents. Don't put your creativity in a box--gift wrap it instead!
... and customers' ears with decorative baubles that resemble ornaments. Stockings won't be the only items hung with care this season. Utilize holiday color schemes or create lines of ornaments in colors of your heart's desire. Easily personalize designs in customer favorite or requested colors and materials for a cheerful bottom line.
Glass rounds are ideal for earring ornamentations, as their spectacular refraction of light draws attention to your creations. Matte-finished beads exude a gentle sheen and seem almost to glow from within, and cloisonné beads have amazing color and detail, resembling the blown-glass ornaments of centuries past.
Thread a bead cap onto a headpin, add the main ornamentation, another bead cap of a larger size (corrugated rondelle beads work, too), and finish with any extra sparkle. Make simple loops larger than normal to resemble the scale of tree ornaments.
... was a happy, jolly soul, and snowman earrings are sure to bring about the same sentiments. Pick your components for the body to create two- or three-tiered snowmen and don't forget "that old top hat they found."
Cat's eye glass' chatoyant fiber optics shine like the sun on a newly fallen snowbank. Glass and crystal sparkle like icicles dangling from the eaves. Shiny or matte pearls, as well as acrylic rounds, are another beautiful option for bringing your own Frosty to life.
Drop the round body components of your choice onto a headpin. Optionally thread bead caps or rondelles as separators between the head and body. Next, use a squaredelle bead or Czech pressed glass rondelle bead for the hat brim. Top with a cube bead in a color that matches your selected hat brim. When customers put these earrings on, they may begin to dance around just as ol' Frosty himself did.
Want to give everyone's favorite snowman a bit more wintery apparel? Create a scarf by stringing seed beads onto thin wire for a striped effect or wrap thicker color-coated wire 'round Frosty's neck. For an easier and more elegant option, substitute a rhinestone rondelle set with colorful rhinestones.
…is coming to town, so why not welcome him with earrings that look just like jolly old Saint Nick? Choose your favorite red beads in graduated sizes for his signature suit and hat, with a tiny white bead for the pompom. Crystal Passions® pearls or faceted rounds and Czech glass beads are lovely, or you could step it up by using pearls and gemstones. Rhinestone rondelles or squaredelles are perfect for Santa's belt (black) and hat band (clear). Represent Santa's face with a pearl or opaque glass bead in the color closest to the skin tone of your choice.
You will need two head pins for each earring: 2-inch for Santa and 3/4 inch for his hat "tail." Onto the 2-inch head pin, drop the red round beads with the belt between, then the face bead, the hat brim and the second-smallest red bead. On the 3/4 inch head pin, slide on the tiny white bead and the smallest red bead, then make a simple loop. Add the newly made dangle to the 2-inch head pin and make another simple loop.
Have fun with Santa-shaped lampworked glass beads—either by themselves or combined with additional red and white beads to lengthen his hat and black beads to represent his boots.
Another fun option is to create Santa's signature hat. Gather red teardrop beads, small round white beads and white or crystal rondelles and string them on a headpin. Or if you're feeling the Christmas rush, check out premade Santa hat drops. Just attach them to an earring finding, and you're done!
Personalize each type of holiday earring template to make every piece unique. Try one, try them all—and remember, there are other classic holiday motifs besides these. Explore other design possibilities such as reindeer, snowflakes, stars, candles and so many more. You will have as much fun making them as the recipients will have wearing them. Give the gift of your creative jewelry touch. With so many cute designs, wish lists sent to Santa may end up twice as long this year. Maybe Saint Nick himself will even pick up a pair or two for Mrs. Claus….
