Crystal Passions'® AB effect, named for aurora borealis (the northern lights), is a term for crystal stones that have a highly iridescent surface. Created by in 1955 in collaboration with Christian Dior, the effect is achieved by vapor blasting the facets of the lower part of the crystals with an invisible, micro-thin metal sheet.
Faceted in a stacked effect of interlocked triangles and precision cut using geometric and optical measurement. The rose comes one step closer to the diamond both in brilliance and in durability thanks to the Platinum Pro foiling technique, which helps withstand damage from environmental factors including chlorine, salt water and perfume. Crystal Passions® rhinestones can be incorporated into an array of designs including wirework, glued into specifically calibrated 7.07-7.27mm rose Almost Instant Jewelry® settings or set in polymer clay, metal clay, Apoxie® Sculpt, resin or Vitrium® Clay.
