Crystal Passions'® AB effect, named for the aurora borealis (the northern lights), is a term for crystal stones that have a highly iridescent surface. Created in 1955 in collaboration with Christian Dior, the effect is achieved by vapor blasting the facets of the lower part of the crystals with an invisible, micro-thin metal sheet.
Crystal fancy stones are designed with precise machine-cut facet patterns that produce signature sparkle. Crystal rhinestones can be incorporated into an array of designs including wirework, glued into specifically calibrated 10x10mm faceted classical cushion fancy stone settings or set in polymer clay, metal clay, Apoxie® Sculpt, Vitrium® clay or clear jewelry resin.
