Sterling silver-filled wire is made of a durable outer layer of sterling silver surrounding a copper-alloy core and is finished with an anti-tarnish coating to preserve its beauty. While silver-filled wire is ideal for basic wire-working, we recommend using sterling silver wire for more intricate projects.

This sterling silver-filled wire is not suitable for hammering or forging. Dead-soft wire is extremely malleable and can be bent easily into a myriad of shapes. It does not hold its shape in stress situations, such as clasps.

For optimal results, use nylon jaw pliers or pliers dipped in Tool Magic® heavy-duty rubber coating when working with sterling silver-filled wire to prevent scratching or marring. Contains 10% silver, 1/10 silver filled.
