Ethiopian opal is a bright, opaque to semi-translucent stone displaying occasional flashes of opalescence. This subdued play of light is caused by internal silica spheres and often referred to as "fire" despite opal having high water content. For believers in the metaphysical, Ethiopian opal is said to be an emotional intensifier, enhancing the true nature of those who wear it.
