- Gem, almandite garnet (natural), 7x5mm hand-cut faceted emerald-cut, A grade, Mohs hardness 7 to 7-1/2
- Ring clamp, wood, 6 inches with wedge insert
- Ring, Sure-Set™, sterling silver, 7x5mm 4-prong emerald-cut basket setting, size 6
Instructions
Step 1
Place ring setting into the ring clamp.
Step 2
Place the gemstone face down on a sturdy cushioned surface or mat, with the topside on laying on surface or mat.
Step 3
Gently but firmly place setting onto the gemstone.
Step 4
Push down with a bit of force but careful not to damage the gemstone.
Step 5
You’ll hear a click, this is the prongs self-setting.
Step 6
Examine and look at the prongs making sure gemstone is secure and tight.
