Instructions
Using the largest slot, cut a circle from a sheet of 26-gauge jeweler's bronze.
Mix one part olive to 10 parts black micro beads. Cover one side of the disc with Devcon® 2-part epoxy then place in a small dish. Pour the microbeads over the disc then let cure. Repeat two times to achieve an almost even surface of micro beads.
Apply Magic-Glos® and cure. Repeat to achieve a domed look.
Working from the spool of 18-gauge wire, make a 90-degree bend approximately 6mm from the end.
Approximately 2 1/4 inches down the wire make a U-bend. Use pliers to tightly squeeze the tip of the bend. Repeat to create 23 petals.
Cut the wire from the spool, leaving a 3-inch tail.
Hammer the bends lightly to flatten. Use pliers to manipulate the petal shapes to your desired design.
Fan the petals into a circle so the tails of the wire meet. Wrap the longer tail around the base of the first petal, just above the shorter tail. Trim and tuck the excess wire.
Cut a 7-inch length of 26-gauge wire.
Tightly wrap one end on the inside edge of the first petal at the bottom bend. Wrap around the adjacent petal and back to the first, pulling to bring the petals snug together. Repeat to bring all the petals together with no space between them.
Trim and tuck any excess wire.
Cut a 7-inch length of 26-gauge wire. Tightly wrap one end at one side of a bottom bend of a petal. String on one 4mm topaz bicone and as many 4mm citrine bicones needed to fill the center of the petal. Tightly wrap just below the top bend to secure then trim and tuck any excess wire. Repeat to fill all the petals.
Use chain-nose pliers to make small adjustments to the petals to bring them all on the same plane. Place the circle of petals on your work surface.
Apply Devcon 2-part epoxy around the back of the centerpiece then press onto the center of the petals. Place a heavy object on the center and allow to cure for at least 30 minutes.
Cut a second disk of jeweler's bronze and repeat Step 9 to apply to the back of the flower.
Cut an 8-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. Thread the beading wire around the wire of a petal. Center the beading wire.
Thread both ends of the beading wire through a crimp. Crimp close to the petals then add a crimp cover.
Using both ends of the wire as one, string the following:
Crimp then add a crimp cover.
Continue by stringing one 4mm peridot AB bicone, one 6mm green druk and one crimp. Crimp, do not trim the beading wire then add a crimp cover.
On one end of the beading wire, string one 6mm peridot AB bicone, one crimp and one leaf bead. Thread the beading wire back through the crimp, pulling snug. Crimp, trim any excess wire and add a crimp cover.
Repeat with the second end of the beading wire, stringing the following:
Cut two 12-inch lengths of beading wire. On one length of wire, string a crimp and an Accu-Guard™ wire protector. Pass the wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests 1mm from the Accu-Guard, leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp, trim the 1/4 inch of wire and add a crimp cover.
String the following onto the beading wire:
String a crimp and an Accu-Guard. Crimp, trim excess wire and add a crimp cover.
Repeat with the second length of beading wire.
Use jump rings to attach each beaded strand to the flower focal as shown and to a toggle clasp.
Cut a 6-inch length of 18-gauge wire. Create a U-bend approximately 1 3/4 inches from the end of the wire then use chain-nose pliers to squeeze the bend together.
Wrap the wire around itself once to secure, leaving the other end of the wire as a straight tail.
Manipulate the sides of the petal into the desired shape.
Repeat to create a second petal.
Gently hammer the bends of the petals to flatten.
Cut a 7-inch length of 26-gauge wire. Tightly wrap one end of the wire around the wire of a petal, just below the bend.
String on one 4mm topaz bicone and as many citrine bicones as needed to fill the center of the petal. Wrap the wire at the other end of the petal to secure and trim any excess.
Repeat to embellish the second petal.
On the tail of a petal string one 8mm green druk, one 6mm sapphire bicone, one 6mm blue druk and one 4mm crystal Labrador bicone then create a large simple loop.
Repeat with the second petal.
Attach the loop of an ear wire to each petal.
