Instructions
Print or draw the outline of your state and script of your state name.
Cut a 1-foot length of 18-gauge round wire. Bend a 1/4 inch tail at a 90-degree angle on one end of the wire.
Center the wire on the bottom of the drawn shape. Leaving the wire on the work surface as much as possible, bend the wire bit by bit to trace the drawn shape, meeting at the top center.
Make a 90-degree bend in one end of the wire where the wire meets. Create a simple loop then bend the wire back down.
Wrap the wire around and under the opposite wire end.
Wrap the stems, working up toward the loop. Trim any excess wire.
Cut a 6-inch length of 22-gauge round wire. Fold a sharp V at the center of the wire. Bend one side of the wire into a half-heart then repeat with the opposite half, meeting at the top center of the heart and twisting together once.
Trim the ends of the wire if needed then create a wrapped loop using both ends of the wire as one.
Avoiding the wrapped loops, hammer the state and heart to flatten and work-harden the wire.
Cut a 1-foot length of 19-gauge twisted wire. Create a large simple loop on one end of the wire.
Repeat Step 3 to trace the word. Once the word is complete, use small movements to perfect the font.
Trim the wire as needed then create a simple loop. Turn the simple loops perpendicular to the script and attach to the bottom of the state.
String a bead cap, a gemstone nugget, and a bead cap onto a head pin then create a wrapped loop.
Use a 7.5x5mm jump ring to hang the heart in the state. Repeat with a 4.5x3mm jump ring to hang the gemstone drop in the heart.
Cut three 2-inch lengths of 22-gauge wire and the following lengths of chain:
Create a wrapped loop on the end of one length of wire, string on nine gemstone rondelles and create another wrapped loop. Repeat to create a total of three links.
Use 4.5x3mm jump rings to attach the following in sequence:
String ten gemstone rondelles onto an eye pin then create a simple loop. Repeat to create a second link.
Attach an ear wire, one gemstone link and one heart link. Repeat to complete the second earring.
