- Jump ring, 14Kt gold-filled, 5.5x3.5mm oval, 4.1x2.3mm inside diameter, 22 gauge
- Drop, 14Kt gold-filled, 25x2mm smooth bar
- Drop, 14Kt gold-filled, 13x2mm smooth bar
- Eye pin, 14Kt gold-filled, 1-5/8 inches, 22 gauge
- Focal, 14Kt gold-filled, 30x20mm teardrop with loop
- Wire straightener, Artistic Wire®, nylon and steel, black and white, 1-3/4 x 1-1/2 inches
- Pliers, Wubbers® Designer Mandrel, small bail-making, steel and rubber, 5-3/4 inches
- Earstud, 14Kt gold-filled, 4mm ball with open loop
- Bead, emerald (oiled), 5-6mm hand-cut faceted cube, D grade, Mohs hardness 7-1/2 to 8
- Wire, 12Kt gold-filled, half-hard, half-round, 24 gauge
- Wire, 12Kt gold-filled, dead-soft, round, 22 gauge
Instructions
Earring Instructions
Step 1
Cut two 2-inch lengths of 24-gauge wire and one 6-inch length of 22-gauge wire.
Step 2
Hold one end of the 6-inch wire to the outermost bend on one side of the teardrop focal. Wrap one of the 2-inch wires to secure the 6-inch wire to the focal.
Step 3
Wrap the 6-inch wire once around the tip of round-nose pliers to form a loop underneath the secure point. Continue to form a total of seven loops, following the curve of the focal.
Repeat Step 2 to secure the loops.
Step 4
Pass an emerald bead onto an eye pin then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of five links.
Attach a 25mm bar drop to four of the links and a 13mm bar drop to one of the links.
Step 5
Attach the 13mm beaded drop to the center of the focal. Attach the 25mm beaded drops to every odd numbered loop.
Open a jump ring. Slide on a 25mm bar drop and an even numbered loop. Close the jump ring. Repeat to add 25mm bar drops to the remaining loops.
Attach the top loop of the focal to an ear stud.
Step 6
Repeat Steps 1 - 5 to create a second earring.
