- Ear wire, sterling silver-filled, 15mm flat fishhook with open loop, 20 gauge
- Focal, sterling silver, 25x5mm heart cluster
- Component, amethyst (natural), 23x4mm-28x7mm hand-cut double-terminated undrilled point, C grade, Mohs hardness 7
- Wire, sterling silver-filled, dead-soft, round, 18 gauge
Instructions
Step 1
Cut two 12-inch lengths of sterling silver-filled 18-gauge wire.
Step 2
Form a wrapped loop on one end of a length of wire then trim excess wire from the short end.
Step 3
Using a hammer and steel block, flatten and texture the loop.
Step 4
Using one amethyst double-terminated point, position the wire so the loop is centered above one of the points of the amethyst component.
Wrap the tail of the wire once around the top of the amethyst component. Continue to wrap the wire around, bringing the wire down across the back of the component then form two full wraps around the bottom of the amethyst component.
Step 5
Continue to wrap the wire around the bottom of the point, forming a closing spiral to hold the amethyst component in place. Trim excess wire.
Step 6
Using a pair of cutting pliers, cut a length from the 25x5mm heart cluster focal that is two jump rings long with two hearts on the top jump ring and one heart on the bottom.
Attach the top jump ring to the loop on the wrapped amethyst component.
Attach an ear wire to the loop to complete the earring.
Step 7
Using a pair of cutting pliers, cut a length from the 25x5mm heart cluster focal that is two jump rings long with two hearts on the top jump ring and one heart on the bottom.
Attach the top jump ring to the loop on the wrapped amethyst component.
Attach an ear wire to the loop to complete the earring.
