Instructions
Cut the following lengths of 20-gauge sterling silver wire:
Using one 8-inch length of wire, form a wrapped loop approximately 1/3 of the way down the wire from one end. Do not trim wire.
String one 20x15mm kyanite oval onto the long tail of the wire. Form a wrapped loop using the smaller barrel of the mandrel pliers.
String one 3x2mm saucer and one 3mm bicone onto the short tail then form the remaining length of the tail into a loop using the smaller jaw of the round mandrel pliers.
Use round-nose pliers to spiral the tail inward.
Repeat the spiral pattern in the opposite direction using the opposite tail, weaving the two spirals together near the center of the oval.
Form one end of a 2-inch length of wire into a tight spiral approximately two revolutions. Repeat using one 2-3/4 inch length of wire.
String onto the straight end of the 2-inch spiral head pin: one 3x2mm saucer and one 3mm bicone then form a simple loop.
String onto the straight end of a 2-3/4 inch spiral head pin: one 6mm bicone and one 3x2mm saucer then form a simple loop.
Using a steel block and hammer, carefully flatten and texture both wrapped loops.
Place the large loop of the wire-wrapped component onto a steel block then carefully use the hammer to flatten and texture the loop.
Repeat with the small loop.
Attach a 3mm bicone drop and a 6mm bicone drop to the small loop of the component.
Repeat Steps 3 - 8 to create two more wire-wrapped bead components.
Cut the following lengths of 1mm snake chain:
Connect crimp tubes with loops to both ends of each length of chain.
String onto an eye pin: one 3x2mm saucer, one 10x8mm oval and one 3x2mm saucer then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of five links.
Attach the following, in order:
Pass one 4mm jump ring through the crimp on one end of the strand and the loop on one side of the clasp then close. Repeat to attach the opposite end of the strand to one loop of the double ring component of the clasp.
Attach crimp ends with loops to the ends of the 17-inch length of chain. Use 4mm jump rings to attach the ends of the chain to the same loops of the clasp as the short strand.
Use a bail to connect the large flattened loop of one wire-wrapped bead component to the chain.
String onto an eye pin: one 3mm bicone, one 6x3.5mm saucer and one 3mm bicone then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a second link.
String onto an eye pin: one 3x2mm saucer, one 6mm bicone and one 3x2mm saucer then form a simple loop. Repeat two more times.
Connect the following:
Connect the ends of the strand to the same loops of the clasp as the other strands to complete the necklace.
Cut two 3-inch lengths of 20-gauge sterling silver wire.
Form one length of wire into a French hoop using the larger jaw of the round mandrel pliers then form a simple loop on the end of the wire. On the opposite end, bend the wire out at a slight angle and straighten if needed.
Use sanding paper to smooth the straight end of the wire.
Attach wire-wrapped bead component to the ear wire then repeat to create a second pair of earrings.
