Instructions
Cut a 20-inch piece of 18-gauge pink Zebra Wire™. Cut a 40-inch piece of 26-gauge pink Zebra Wire.
Find the center of the 20-inch piece of 18-gauge wire. 3.25-inches to the left of the center, make a 130-degree bend in the wire, then after 0.25-inches, make a second bend to bring the tail back parallel, to form one end of the ribbon frame. 3.25-inches to the right of the original center of the same wire, make a 130-degree bend in the wire, then after 0.25-inches, make a second bend to bring the tail back parallel to form the other end of the ribbon frame.
Let the tails cross each other so they lay parallel to each other in opposite directions. At the center, use chain-nose pliers to bend one tail 90 degrees upward. Wrap the second tail once around the base of the first tail at the bend. Then cut and tuck in the tail. Several millimeters from the bend, make a wrapped loop. For instructions on making a wrapped loop, view the "Secrets to a Wrapped Loop" video and instructions. Then wrap the tail down the stem to the bend. Cut off and tuck in the tail.
Wrap one end of the 40-inch 26-gauge wire around one end of the ribbon frame several times. Cut off the tail and tuck it in. Make a 90-degree bend in the 40-inch 26-gauge wire 2mm from the wraps you just made. Thread on a 4mm crystal bicone bead and let it fall to the bottom of the wire and nest inside the ribbon frame. Wrap the tail around the opposite side of the frame twice tightly, bring it back to the original side and wrap twice, tightly. Repeat until the whole frame has been embellished. Then cut off the tail and tuck it in.
Place the center of the embellished ribbon frame on the larger barrel of extra-large round Wubbers® Designer Mandrel pliers. Wrap it around the barrel until it is a U shape. Use your fingers to twist the ends of the ribbon frame in opposite directions so they are flat. then cross them over each other until you achieve an Awareness Ribbon shape.
Cut a 2.25-inch section of 20-gauge pink Zebra Wire. Make a small loop in one end with the tip of round-nose pliers. Set the loop against the smaller barrel of jumbo round Wubbers Designer mandrel pliers. Bend the wire all the way around the barrel. The loop and opposite end of the tail should meet in a perfect circle. Use chain nose pliers to bend the tail out at about 0.25-inches. Use a wire rounder to soften the edge of the ear wire. Attach the ear wire to the top loop of the ribbon.
Repeat Steps 1 through 6 to create the second earring.
