Cut the following:
String one 13x7mm kite bail onto the 40.5x35mm flat spiral focal. Slide the bail further around the edge of the spiral temporarily to leave room to work.
Beginning at approximately 4mm from the end of the spiral focal on the outside edge, wrap one end of the 24-gauge wire four times around the outer spiral.
Pass the wire through the focal between the outer spiral and the second (inner) spiral and make one full wrap around the inner spiral from the opposite side; if the outer spiral wrap started from the front, the inner spiral wrap will start from the back.
String two bicones onto the wire then pass the wire back between the inner and outer spirals. Make one wrap around the outer spiral then pass the wire back through the two spirals.
Slide the bail back toward the last wrap then continue to wrap once around the inner spiral. Pass the wire back through the two arms of the spiral focal on the opposite side of the bail then wrap once around the outer arm.
String two bicones onto the wire then pass the wire back between the two arms of the spiral. Make one full wrap around the inner spiral then pass the wire back through the two arms of spiral. Make one full wrap around the outer spiral.
Repeat the above pattern, stringing two bicones then making one wrap around each arm of the spiral, until a total of six sets of bicones have been added.
Finish with one wrap around each arm then trim excess wire.
Holding the focal by the bail, mark the center point of the bottom of the focal.
Mix Devcon® 5-Minute® epoxy according to manufacturer's instructions.
Using a toothpick, apply a small dot of epoxy to the front of the focal on the center mark and the back of the last link of the 3-3/4 inch length of cupchain. Press and hold the last link of the cupchain onto the focal.
Repeat gluing the remaining lengths of cupchain to the focal adjacent to and on each side of the previous length in descending order, with the longest length in the center and the shortest lengths on the outside.
Set aside to cure.
Attach the length of Gossamer™ chain to the bail to finish the necklace.
Cut the following:
String one 13x7mm kite bail onto one 26x22mm flat spiral component. Slide the bail further around the edge of the spiral temporarily to leave room to work.
Beginning at the end of the outer arm of the spiral, wrap one end of the 24-gauge wire once around the outer arm.
Pass the wire through the component between the outer arm and the second (inner) arm of the spiral and make one full wrap around the inner spiral from the opposite side; if the outer spiral wrap started from the front, the inner spiral wrap will start from the back.
String one bicone onto the wire then pass the wire back between the inner and outer arms of the spiral. Make one wrap around the outer spiral then pass the wire back through the two spirals.
Slide the bail to be adjacent to the last wrap. Continue to wrap the wire once around the inner spiral then pass the wire back through the two arms of the spiral component on the opposite side of the bail.
String one bicone onto the wire then wrap once around the outer arm of the spiral component. Pass the wire back through the two arms of the spiral component then wrap once around the inner arm.
Repeat the above pattern, stringing one bicone then making one wrap around each arm of the spiral, passing the wire between the arms each time, until a total of six bicones have been added.
Finish with two wraps around the inner arm of the spiral component then trim excess wire.
Holding the focal by the bail, mark the center point of the bottom of the focal.
Mix Devcon 5-Minute epoxy according to manufacturer's instructions.
Using a toothpick, apply a small dot of epoxy to the front of the focal on the center mark and the back of the last link of the 3-inch length of cupchain. Press and hold the last link of the cupchain onto the focal.
Repeat gluing the remaining lengths of cupchain to the focal adjacent to and on each side of the previous length in descending order, with the longest length in the center and the shortest lengths on the outside.
Set aside to cure.
Using a pair of round-nose pliers, form a simple loop on the end of one 2-1/4 inch length of 20-gauge wire.
Using the Wubbers® bail-making pliers, insert the wire between the two jaws with the simple loop pressed up against the jaws. Roll the wire around the jaw of the pliers in the opposite direction of the loop to form a French hook. Use a pair of flat-nose pliers to add a crook to the end of the wire in the opposite direction of the hoop.
Note: Depending on how large you want the hoop, use either the larger or smaller jaw of the bail-making pliers.
Tip: View our ''How to Use the Wubbers® Bail-Making and Round Mandrel Pliers'' how-to video for more information.
Pass one jump ring through the bail on the spiral component and the loop on the ear wire then close.
Repeat Steps 2 - 9 to create a second earring, using the opposite side of the second spiral component to mirror the first earring.
