How to Create the Chevron Stitch
The chevron stitch is a versatile seed-beading technique that is perfect for all kinds of decorative and jewelry-making uses. It's also one of the easiest seed bead stitches to use! Learn how it's done with this step-by-step how-to video hosted by Rose.
Instructions
Step 1
Cut a 3-foot length of stringing material and thread a beading needle.
Step 2
String a stop bead, leaving a 4-inch tail.
Step 3
Pick up four color A seed beads, three color B seed beads and three color A seed beads.
Step 4
Pass back through the first color A seed bead strung in Step 3. Pull the thread tight to create a curved triangle.
Step 5
Pick up three color B and three color A seed beads, then pass back through the fifth color A added in Step 3. Pull the thread tight to create a second curved triangle.
Note: The bead passed through is the first color A bead at the curve of the triangle.
Step 6
Pick up three color B and three color A seed beads, then pass through the first color A added in Step 5.
Note: The bead passed through is the first color A bead at the curve of the triangle.
Step 7
Repeat Step 6 until the beaded chevron chain has reached the desired length.
Step 8
Pass back through multiple adjacent beads in the weave to secure the thread. For additional security, add a knot.
Remove the stop bead and thread the beading needle onto the tail created in Step 2. Pass through multiple adjacent beads to secure the thread. For additional security add a knot.
