Instructions
Cut one 6-foot length of FireLine® thread. Thread a beading needle almost doubling the thread (to make it easier to work with) but leaving a tail so you are working with only one thread. Place a Stop Bead on the end of the working thread leaving an approximately 10-inch tail.
Tip: It may be necessary to cut other lengths of thread later in the design.
Attach one 4x3mm oval jump ring to each loop on each portion of the 4-strand slide lock clasp.
Map out a pattern measuring eight beads wide using our FREE printable Peyote Stitch Graph Paper.
Begin the even count peyote stitch by stringing sixteen seed beads according to the pattern, the first two rows. (In the provided pattern there are 11 royal purple and five gold #11 seed beads.) Continue the peyote stitch according to the pattern to create an approximately 6-1/4 inch strip.
After the last row of peyote stitch, pass the needle through the first bead in the row below then weave through adjacent beads back to the last row exiting the inside of the second bead.
String one #11 seed bead (same color as adjacent beads) then pass through the next three seed beads. Repeat a total of three times. String one #11 seed bead (same color as adjacent beads) then pass through the last seed bead in the row.
Pass the needle through the first bead in the row below then weave through adjacent beads exiting the inside of the last seed bead in the four-bead row. Pass the needle through the top jump ring attached to the slide lock clasp then back through the seed bead several times in the same direction to secure the jump ring. Continue to attach each jump ring to a seed beads in the row. Pass the needle through several adjacent seed beads along the strip to secure then trim excess thread.
Thread the needle onto the tail on the opposite end of the strip then repeat Steps 3 and 4 to attach the second portion of the clasp.
Thread the needle with a new length of thread then stitch through several adjacent seed beads along the end of the bracelet to secure. Continue to stitch to the last row, exiting the outside of the last seed bead on one end of the row.
String three amethyst #15 rocailles, pass the needle back through the center rocaille, string an additional amethyst #15 rocaille then pass through the next adjacent #11 seed bead along the edge of the bracelet. Repeat to add a picot stitch along the entire edge of the bracelet.
Continue to stitch to the opposite edge of the bracelet exiting the first seed bead in the last row. Repeat Step 7 to add a picot stitch along the second edge of the bracelet.
