Instructions
Flat even count peyote stitch begins by stringing an even number of beads to create the first two rows. Begin the third row by stringing one bead and passing through the second to last bead of the previous rows. String another bead and pass through the fourth to last bead of the previous rows. Continue adding one bead at a time, passing over every other bead of the previous rows.
Change pattern to two rows of #8 seed beads followed by two rows of magatama beads until you get to about 1 inch from desired bracelet length.
When you get to the last inch of beadwork bring the pattern back to two rows of #8 seed beads followed by one row of magatama beads.
Using scissors cut a 3-yard length of FireLine®. Add a stop bead to the FireLine by looping through the stop bead 1 time, leaving a 7-inch tail.
Begin working in even count peyote, creating a strip that is 8 beads wide and approximately 124 rows long (depending on desired bracelet length) following the pattern listed above.
The last row will have four beads extending out past the other three beads in the row. Weave the thread so the thread exits the inside of the first high bead. Pass the thread through the first loop of the 21x6mm gold-plated slide lock clasp then through the second high bead. Continue to weave the thread through the beads and the remaining loops of the 21x6mm gold-plated slide lock clasp. Weave the remaining thread into the bracelet to secure the 21x6mm gold-plated slide lock clasp. Trim the excess thread.
Repeat to attach the second portion of the 21x6mm gold-plated slide lock clasp to the opposite end of the bracelet.
