- Bead, acrylic, red, 20x13mm fluted oval
- Bead cap, antique copper-plated pewter (tin-based alloy), 10x5mm round with dots and lines, fits 8-10mm bead
- Metal coating, Swellegant!™, copper
- Sealant, Swellegant!™, matte clear
- Ear wire, antique copper-plated copper, 25mm fishhook with 8mm shield and open loop, 18 gauge
- Head pin, copper, 2 inches with 1.5mm ball, 22 gauge
- Seed bead, Miyuki, glass, opaque iris gold, (SPR3-462), 3x1.3mm rondelle
- Craft brush, wood / horsehair / aluminum, assorted colors, 7 to 8-1/2 inches, sizes 1-12
Instructions
Step 1
Use soap and water to clean two acrylic oval beads.
Step 2
Use a soft brush or sponge to stroke or dab the Swellegant! metal coating onto the acrylic beads. Set aside to dry for approximately 10 - 15 minutes before applying additional layers. Once you have the desired look, apply a layer of Swellegant! sealant. Set aside to dry, approximately 20 - 30 minutes.
Note: It is recommended to let all coatings and patinas dry completely for 72 hours before sealing the pieces.
Step 3
String the following onto a head pin:
- One seed bead
- One bead cap
- One acrylic bead
- One bead cap
- One seed bead
Form a wrapped loop, then connect the wrapped loop to an ear wire.
Step 4
Repeat Step 3 to create a second earring.
