How to Use Gilders Paste®

Gilders Paste is a professional wax-based medium that can be mixed or layered for an endless color palette that won't fade. Colors can be mixed or layered for an endless palette of designs.

Paste dries to the touch in 10 - 15 minutes with a recommended complete dry time of 12 - 24 hours. Once dry, polishing with a soft cloth will bring out a luster finish. Applying a water-based acrylic topcoat is recommended. Please note that this product may arrive or become dried, giving it a cracked appearance or pulling away from the sides of the container. Revive dry paste or thin paste to gain a translucent effect using paint thinner, mineral spirits or turpentine. A little Gilders Paste goes a long way. A 1.5-ounce canister covers over 30 square feet—that's a lot of applications!
