Instructions
Cut 1/4 ounce each of white gold, gray granite, bronze and twinkle twinkle (black glitter) polymer clay.
Run each piece through pasta/clay machine on the lowest number.
Use the oval pendant as a template and cut an oval out of each clay piece to fit inside the setting.
Cut each oval into four equal parts.
Take two of the colors and cut one portion at a diagonal, then cut the same color on a horizontal.
Arrange pieces to create a patterned oval shield.
Lightly press seams together and place into the pendant, trimming to fit if necessary.
Tip: You can add heat-safe embellishments, such as a metal charm, to your shield at this time.
Bake 15 minutes at manufacturer’s suggested temperature. Let clay cool completely before handling.
Mix up 2-part epoxy resin according to package directions.
Apply a light coat of resin on top of clay design.
Apply heat source (such as a torch or heat gun) to eliminate bubbles. Allow to cure 24 hours.
Note: If using a torch, be very careful not to touch the surface with the flame for more than a second, to avoid scorching.
Apply a coat of resin to the back of clay piece and let cure for another 24 hours.
Cut 20 inches of bulk curb chain.
Attach one end of the self-closing clasp to the chain.
Thread chain through the pendant and close clasp.
