Instructions
Cut an 18-inch length of silver-plated steel chain.
Using a sanding block, lightly brush the front and back of a 40mm gear component to give the desired look. Do not brush long or hard as the coating will wear quickly.
String onto a head pin a 3x2mm silver-plated brass smooth rondelle bead and a 9x6mm millefiori glass faceted rondelle bead. Pass the head pin through one hole of a 40mm gear component and, using the smallest form on wrapping pliers, create a wrapped loop to attach the head pin to the gear component so that the head pin is positioned below the gear component.
String onto a head pin a 16x14mm millefiori glass faceted hexagon bead. Pass the head pin through the other side of a 40mm gear component and, using the smallest form on wrapping pliers, create a wrapped loop to attach the head pin to the gear component so that the head pin is positioned inside the gear component.
Attach to a 7mm jump ring the same side of the gear component from Step 4 and the center link of the 18-inch length of chain.
Attach to a 4mm jump ring one end of the necklace and one half of a magnetic clasp. Repeat on the other end to complete the necklace.
Cut a 2-inch length of silver-plated steel chain.
Using a sanding block, lightly brush the front and back of a 29mm gear component to give the desired look. Do not brush long or hard as the coating will wear quickly.
String onto a head pin a 3x2mm silver-plated brass smooth rondelle bead and a 9x6mm millefiori glass faceted rondelle bead. Pass the head pin through one hole of a 29mm gear component and, using the smallest form on wrapping pliers, create a wrapped loop to attach the head pin to the gear component so that the head pin is positioned below the gear component.
Attach to a 7mm jump ring the other end of the gear component and one end of the 2-inch length of chain.
Attach to a 4mm jump ring the other end of chain and an ear wire.
Repeat to create a second earring.
