Instructions
A shimmering cascade of light! These breathtaking silver chain earrings are sure-fire attention getters.
Surprisingly quick to make, too.
For each earring, cut the following sections of figaro chain. All chain pieces begin and end with 3 small links. Pieces are specified by the number of long links:
Open 12 oval jumprings, using two pairs of bent-nose pliers. Grasp a jumpring on each side of the split with a pair of pliers. Push one pair of pliers away from you and pull the other one toward you to open the jumpring without changing its oval shape. Be careful not to distort the shape of the oval by pulling the ends away from each other sideways.
Hold one side of a jumpring with a pair of bent-nose piers next to the opening. Thread it through the small link at the end of one of the shortest chain pieces. Continue to hold the jumpring with your bent-nose pliers and attach it to the loop on the inner side of the top of the triangle finding. With the second pair of bent-nose pliers, grasp the other side of the jumpring near the opening. Now use the two pairs of pliers to push and pull the ends of the jumpring back together so that the oval is again flat and closed.
Hang the two 2-long-link chains on the second and tenth loops at the bottom of the triangle. Continue hanging the pairs of chains so that they graduate to the longest chain on the center loop.
Open the loop at the bottom of an earwire the same way you opened the jumprings and hang the top loop of the triangle from it, making sure that the triangle faces forward. Close the loop.
Repeat Steps 1 - 4 to make a matching earring.
