Cut two 3-foot lengths of fuchsia cord and two 3-foot lengths of navy cord.
Fold the cords in half and attach one navy and one fuchsia cord to each side of the link using a lark’s head knot. Pass the folded cord through the hole of your component, then pass the ends of the cord through the loop and tighten.
The leftmost cord will be Cord 1, then Cord 2, Cord 3 and the rightmost cord will be Cord 4.
Pass Cord 1 horizontally over Cords 2 and 3 then pass Cord 4 over the end of Cord 1, under Cords 2 and 3 and up through the loop (created by Cord 1) then pull snug. (This is a half square knot.)
Pass Cord 1 under Cords 2 and 3 then bring Cord 4 under Cord 1, over Cords 2 and 3 and through the loop. Pull Cords 1 and 4 tight so the knot rests close to the previous half of the square knot.
Note: It's important to alternate Cord 1 over and under Cords 2 and 3 to get a flat pattern. Consistently passing over Cords 2 and 3 will cause the pattern to twist.
Add one #6 seed bead to each of Cords 1 and 4 and create another square knot.
Continue making square knots and adding beads until you have completed the necessary length for one half of the bracelet, approximately ten square knots.
Repeat on the other side.
Line up Cords 2 and 3 from both sides of the bracelet so the tails face opposite directions and create 2 more square knots on each side to secure all four center strands together. The four center strands will slide inside the ending square knots to form the adjustable closure.
Cut the tails of Cords 1 and 4 on both sides of the bracelet and melt the ends.
Note: Be careful not to melt the center cords or they will not slide inside the square knots for adjusting the bracelet.
Add seed beads to each of the four center strands (2 and 3) and create a figure-8 knot, about three inches from the last of the square knots and melt the ends.
