- Ear wire, imitation rhodium-plated brass, 17mm flat fishhook with 2mm coil and open loop, 22 gauge
- Jump ring, stainless steel, 10mm round square wire, 8mm inside diameter, 18 gauge
- Bead, TierraCast®, antique silver-plated pewter (tin-based alloy), 15x4mm square tube with rhythm theme
- Bead, stainless steel, 4mm ribbed tube
- Adhesive, E6000® Plus
- Cord, leather, brown, 16mm flat
- Crimp cover, antique silver-plated brass, 3mm
- Crimp, sterling silver, 2mm cut tube, 1.4mm inside diameter
- Bead, porcelain, opaque matte black and white, 6.5x4mm chevron
- Beading wire, Accu-Flex®, nylon and stainless steel, clear, 49 strand, 0.024-inch diameter
- Cord, Satinique™, satin, black, 1mm mini
- Cord, leather (dyed), brown, 1-1.2mm round
Instructions
Necklace Instructions
Step 1
Cut the following:
- One 3-inch length of 16mm flat cord
- One 3-inch length of Accu-Flex® Professional Quality beading wire
- Two 20-inch lengths of 1mm round cord
Step 2
Punch one hole into the flat cord approximately 1/4 inch from each short end.
Step 3
Pass one length of the round cord halfway through one of the punched holes so there are two 10-inch lengths. Tie an overhand knot against the outside edge of the flat cord using both lengths as one. String a ribbed tube bead onto both cords then tie another overhand knot. 3 inches down the cord tie another overhand knot then trim one of the cords, leaving approximately 1/4 inch. 5-1/2 inches further tie another overhand knot. String on a square tube bead then tie another overhand knot.
Repeat on the other side of the flat cord.
Step 4
String a crimp onto the beading wire. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp leaves approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp then add a crimp cover.
Step 5
String 18 chevron beads onto the beading wire. Repeat Step 4 to secure the strand. Trim any excess wire.
Step 6
Apply a light coat of E6000® to one side of the flat cord. Clamp the chevron strand into place. Clean up any excess glue with cotton swabs and alcohol. Let dry overnight.
Bracelet Instructions
Step 1
Cut the following:
- One 2-inch length of 16mm flat cord
- Two 10-inch lengths of 1mm round cord
- One 10-inch length of Satinique™ cord
- One 15-inch length of Satinique cord
- One 2-1/2 inch length of beading wire
Step 2
Punch one hole into the flat cord approximately 1/4 inch from each short end.
Step 3
Pass one length of the round cord halfway through one of the punched holes so there are two 5-inch lengths. Tie an overhand knot against the outside edge of the flat cord using both lengths as one. String a ribbed tube bead onto both cords then tie another overhand knot. String a square tube bead onto each length and secure them with overhand knots.
Repeat on the other side of the flat cord.
Step 4
String a crimp onto the beading wire. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp leaves approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp then add a crimp cover.
Step 5
String 14 chevron beads onto the beading wire. Repeat Step 4 to secure the strand. Trim any excess wire.
Step 6
Apply a light coat of E6000 to one side of the flat cord. Clamp the chevron strand into place. Clean up any excess glue with cotton swabs and alcohol. Let dry overnight.
Step 7
Once dry, pass the cords from one end over the cords of the other end. Use clamps to hold them in place at the desired size. Use the Satinique cord to tie a spiral knot over the four cords.
Earring Instructions
Step 1
Cut the following:
- One 1/2 inch length of 16mm flat cord
- One 4-inch length of 1mm round cord
- One 2-inch length of beading wire
Step 2
Punch a hole into the flat cord approximately 1/4 inch from a short end.
Step 3
Pass the round cord halfway through the punched hole so there are two 2-inch lengths. Approximately 1/2 inch down the cord tie an overhand knot, using both lengths as one. Trim excess cord.
Step 4
String a crimp onto the beading wire. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp leaves approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp then add a crimp cover.
Step 5
String 9 chevron beads onto the beading wire. Repeat Step 4 to secure the strand. Trim any excess wire.
Step 6
Apply a light coat of E6000 to one side of the flat cord. Clamp the chevron strand into place. Clean up any excess glue with cotton swabs and alcohol.
Step 7
Repeat Steps 1 - 6 to create a second component. Let dry overnight.
Step 8
Open a jump ring. Slide on one component and one ear wire. Close the jump ring. Repeat to create a second earring.
