Instructions

Creating the Chainmaille

Step 1

Pass one gold 8mm jump ring through two silver 8mm jump rings and a paperclip then close. Separate the two silver jump rings and lay them flat on opposite sides of the gold jump ring in a butterfly position.

Step 2

Pass one gold 8mm jump ring through the two silver 8mm jump rings from Step 1 and two more silver 8mm jump rings then close. Position the silver jump rings so they lay flat over the previous two silver jump rings.

Continue this pattern until the desired length is created.

Step 3

Pass one gold 8mm jump ring through the "eye" of two silver 8mm jump rings on one side of the length of chainmaille then close.

Step 4

Repeat Step 3, adding a gold jump ring to the "eye" created by two silver jump rings along the side of the chainmaille.

Step 5

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 on the opposite side of the chainmaille.

Step 6

Connect one 14x9mm lobster claw clasp to the center gold 8mm jump ring on one end of the chainmaille using double 4mm jump rings.

Create an extender chain using four gold 8mm jump rings with double 4mm jump rings in between each then use double 4mm jump rings to connect the extender chain to the center gold 8mm jump ring on the opposite side of the chainmaille.

Adding the Charms and Drops

Step 7

String a 4mm round crystal onto a head pin then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of 48 crystal drops.

Attach each crystal drop to each of the gold 8mm jump rings along each edge of the chainmaille.

Note: You may need to create a greater or fewer number of crystal drops depending on the length of your design.

Step 8

Connect a 4mm jump ring to a charm then use another 4mm jump ring to attach the previous jump ring to a 7x5mm lobster claw clasp. Repeat for each of the charms.

Step 9

Connect the clasp of one charm component to the end of the extender chain.

Note: The remaining charms are optional and are meant to be swapped out as desired.
