Instructions
Attach one 12mm silver jump ring to a large paper clip or piece, or a length of wire. This will allow an easy grip while the chainmaille is short.
Pass one 8mm dark orange jump ring through the starting 12mm silver jump ring then close. Repeat to attach a second dark orange jump ring, creating double-jump rings.
Attach one silver 12mm jump ring to both 8mm dark orange jump rings. Repeat to attach a second silver jump ring.
Attach two more dark orange 8mm jump rings to the previous two 12mm silver jump rings.
Pass one 12mm silver jump ring between the previous 12mm silver jump rings from Step 2 and around the outside of the two 8mm dark orange rings, without passing through the center of any rings, then close. This is called a floater jump ring because it is not attached to any other jump ring.
Tip: For more information, view our "How to Start a Celtic Line in Chainmaille" how-to video.
Attach one 12mm silver jump ring to the previous two 8mm dark orange jump rings, to one side of the floater jump ring. Repeat to attach a second silver jump ring on the opposite side of the floater.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 stopping approximately 1/2 inch short from the desired length, to leave room for the clasp.
Use 8mm dark orange double jump rings to attach one lobster claw clasp to the last set of 12mm silver jump rings.
