Instructions
Cut a 10-inch length of size E pink silk thread, thread it through the eye of a heavy gauge twisted needle and make a quadruple (4 times) overhand knot in the thread in the opposite end.
Use the twisted needle to thread on a single #11 gold TOHO BEADS® seed bead and push it all the way to the knotted end, to use as a stopper. The knot may sink into the hole slightly, but should be large enough to not pass through.
Pro Tip: If your thread comes out of the twisted needle and the needle’s eye has collapsed, use a fine awl to round out the eye so it can be threaded again.
Pass the needle through the center of a 6.5x3.5mm gold-plated bottom clamp-on bead tip and push it all the way to the knotted end. Add a small drop of G-S Hypo Cement® to the knot at the end of the silk thread, trim off the tail and let it dry for 10 minutes.
Use chain nose pliers to close the bead tip securely over the knot and seed bead.
Pick up the toggle clasp and select the toggle bar, then pick up a single 4.5mm 20-gauge gold-plated jump ring and open the jump ring.
Use the jump ring to connect the toggle bar to the hole in the bead tip. Close the jump ring.
Use the twisted needle to thread on beads in these patterns:
Pattern A
Pattern B
Repeat Pattern B (8) times.
Pro Tip: If the end of your thread begins to fray, pass it firmly over beeswax in multiple directions. This will stabilize the silk so you can finish stringing your piece.
Pattern C
Use the twisted needle to thread through the center of a 6.5x3.5mm gold-plated bottom clamp-on bead tip and push it all the way to the knotted end.
Pass the needle through a single #11 gold TOHO BEADS® seed bead to use as a stopper. Gently but firmly push all beads toward the toggle bar end of the bracelet, so the design is snug but not rigid.
Make a quadruple (4 times) overhand knot in the thread tightly against the seed bead. The knot may sink into the hole slightly, but should be large enough to not pass through.
Add a small drop of G-S Hypo Cement® to the knot at the end of the silk thread, trim off the tail and let it dry for 10 minutes.
Use chain nose pliers to close the bead tip securely over the knot and seed bead.
Pick up the ring end of the toggle clasp, then pick up a single 4.5mm 20-gauge gold-plated jump ring and open the jump ring.
Use the jump ring to connect the toggle bar to the hole in the bead tip. Close the jump ring.
Pick up a single 4.5mm 20-gauge gold-plated jump ring and open the jump ring.
Use the jump ring to connect the toggle bar to the hole in the bead tip. Close the jump ring.
Pick up a final 4.5mm 20-gauge gold-plated jump ring and open the jump ring. Add a 10x8.5mm cubic zirconia and gold-finished crescent moon charm to this jump ring. Attach this jump ring to the loop on the ring end of the toggle clasp.
Close this final jump ring for a complete bracelet design.
