- Bead, Crystal Passions®, iris AB2X, 4mm bicone (5328)
- Beading supply, Bead Stopper™, stainless steel, 7mm
- Bugle bead, Preciosa Ornela, Czech glass, transparent rainbow light purple, 6x2mm
- Ear wire, 14Kt rose gold-filled, 17mm flat fishhook with open loop and 2mm ball, 22 gauge
- Memory wire cutter, steel and rubber, blue and black, 5-1/2 inches
- Memory wire, Beadalon®, rose gold-plated carbon steel, 3-5/8 inch necklace, 0.6mm thick
- Pliers, Beadalon®, memory wire finisher, stainless steel and rubber, black, 4-1/4 inches
- Seed bead, Dyna-Mites™, glass, silver-lined translucent light pink, #11 round with square hole
- Seed bead, Dyna-Mites™, glass, translucent matte inside color blue/lilac, #11 round
Instructions
Step 1
Using memory wire cutters, cut one loop of memory wire to overlap about .5 inch.
Use memory wire pliers to put a simple loop in one end.
Step 2
Thread seed beads onto the memory wire to spell out “Nerd Is the New Cool” in Morse Code. Use color A bugle beads for dashes, color A seed beds for dots and color B seed beads for spaces on the memory wire. Put one space between each letter and three spaces between each word.

Step 3
Use chain nose pliers to bend the exposed tail upwards ninety degrees from the hoop. Bring tail up though loop in opposite end of memory wire.
Thread a 4mm bicone onto the tail. Use memory wire pliers to make a simple loop in the same direction as the hoop. Cut off any excess tail with memory wire cutters.
Open the loop on the ear wire with chain nose pliers, slightly sideways. Add hoop onto ear wire with the beginning of the code on the left, close the loop on the ear wire.
Step 4
Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the second earring.
