- Bead, bamboo coral (dyed), red, 3.5-4mm hand-cut round, B grade, Mohs hardness 3-1/2 to 4
- Bead, lapis lazuli (natural), 4mm round, B grade, Mohs hardness 5 to 6
- Bead, mother-of-pearl shell (bleached), white, 4mm round, Mohs hardness 3-1/2
- Beading wire, Accu-Flex®, nylon and stainless steel, clear, 49 strand, 0.014-inch diameter
- Crimp cover, antique silver-plated brass, 4mm
- Crimp, sterling silver, 2mm cut tube, 1.4mm inside diameter
- Drop, antique silver-plated pewter (tin-based alloy), 23.5mm hammered open round
- Ear wire, stainless steel, 13mm flat fishhook with 2.5mm ball and open loop, 21 gauge
- Jump ring, antiqued sterling silver, 12mm hammered round, 9.8mm inside diameter, 17 gauge
- Wire protector, Accu-Guard™, stainless steel, 5mm tube with 0.5mm inside diameter
Instructions
Step 1
Cut six 5-inch lengths of Accu-Flex® professional quality beading wire.
Step 2
String onto one length of beading wire: one crimp, one Accu-Guard™ wire protector and one 12mm open flat round. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the Accu-Guard leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Finish with a crimp cover.
Step 3
String onto the beading wire: seven ivory pearls, one crimp, one Accu-Guard wire protector and one 25mm open flat round. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the Accu-Guard leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Finish with a crimp cover.
Step 4
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 using five red coral pearls.
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 using five dark lapis pearls, attaching it to the 12mm open flat round on the opposite side of the white strand, to create a red, white and blue pattern.
Step 5
Attach an ear wire to the top of the 25mm open flat round to complete the earrings.
Step 6
Repeat Steps 2 - 5 to create a second earring.
