Double-Strand Bracelet with Sodalite Gemstone Beads and Antiqued Brass-Plated Beads

Create a casual, quick stretch bracelet with denim blue and white sodalite beads paired with antiqued brass pewter and dainty dangles.

Slide a 6mm round sodalite bead onto an antiqued gold-plated headpin. Using the chain-nose pliers, grip the wire, as close as possible, to the bead then bend the wire to form a 90 degree (right) angle.

Using the side-cutting pliers, cut the eyepin to approximately 1/4 inch past the bend.

Grasp the clipped end of the wire with the tip of the round-nose pliers. While pressing the thumbnail of your non-dominant hand into the 90 degree angle of the wire, rotate the pliers away from your body so that the wire is wound around the barrel, forming a complete circle, centered over the beads. If necessary, adjust the loop so it is centered.

Using the chain-nose pliers, open the simple loop by gently twisting up on the open side of the loop, being careful to maintain the rounded shape of the loop.

Thread the opened loop through the loop of the antiqued gold pewter cylinder bead. Close the loop on the headpin. Repeat six times to make a total of seven beaded pewter cylinder beads.

Measure and cut a 12-inch piece of Powercord® elastic beading cord. Attach a hemostat to one end and string a total of four sets of the following beads onto the beading cord:

• Beaded pewter cylinder bead
• 8mm sodalite round
• Pewter rondelle bead
• 8mm sodalite round
• Pewter rondelle bead
• 8mm sodalite round
• Pewter rondelle bead
• 8mm sodalite round

After passing through the last sodalite bead, remove the hemostat and tie a surgeon's knot with each end of the beading cord, by bringing the left thread over and around the right thread twice and pull tight. Bring the right thread around and over the left thread once and pull to tight to secure the knot. Add a drop of Vigor® super glue to the tightened knot and trim the ends.

Measure and cut another 12-inch piece of Powercord elastic beading cord. Attach a hemostat to one end and string a total of three sets of the following beads onto the beading cord:

• 8mm sodalite round
• Pewter rondelle bead
• 8mm sodalite round
• Pewter rondelle bead
• 8mm sodalite round
• Pewter rondelle bead
• 8mm sodalite round
• Beaded pewter cylinder bead

For the last beaded pewter cylinder bead, pass the beading cord through one that is already strung onto the first finished bracelet. After passing through the beaded pewter cylinder bead, remove the hemostat and tie a surgeon's knot with each end of the beading cord by bringing the left thread over and around the right thread twice and pull tight. Bring the right thread around and over the left thread once and pull to tight to secure the knot. Add a drop of Vigor super glue to the tightened knot and trim the ends.
