My name is Oksana Muminova. I am a pianist and educator. A few years ago, I moved to the United States from Ukraine to start a new life filled with creativity and inspiration. Now, I live in sunny Florida, where I create textile jewelry with exquisite designer embroidery.
What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Every stitch, every bead passes through my hands, transforming into a luxurious piece of art. My work is inspired by music, the world around me, sunrises and sunsets, gardens and oceans. My greatest source of inspiration is my life and my children.
What medium do you work with mostly?
I work with a variety of materials—velvet, crystals, beads, sequins, and embroidery—allowing my creativity to take limitless forms. However, I have a special love for brooches—tiny works of art that can bring elegance and beauty to even the most casual look.
Do you sell your designs?
I am currently in the process of launching my Etsy store, but I am always open to custom orders and exciting creative collaborations
Feel free to visit my Instagram page for some inspiration, I'd be happy to welcome new guests!
What is the name of the piece you are submitted?
My brooch has a name "Moon Dandelion"
What inspired this design? How did it come together? For example, did you plan it out or did it define itself once you began working?
I was inspired to create this brooch by the magic of the night sky and the mysterious glow of the moon. I imagined a delicate dandelion coming to life under the moonlight, shimmering with pearlescent reflections and fine silver threads.
The idea was carefully planned from the start—I wanted to capture the fragility and lightness of the flower while preserving its refined elegance. However, as I worked, the design began to evolve organically. Each element seemed to find its place naturally, and the combination of materials—velvet, beads, sequins, and crystals—helped bring the vision to life.
It felt like a creative dialogue between me and the materials, where every detail told its own story.
