Video Tutorial - Using Rivets and the Rivet Setting Tool

Instructions

Step 1

Hole-punch pliers with a strip of leather

Use hole-punch pliers to punch hole in leather at desired position.

Step 2

Second hole being punched by hole punch pliers

Fold leather for hole alignment then punch second hole in leather at desired position.

Step 3

Leather strip positioned onto bottom half of rivet

Insert bottom half of the rivet through both holes and place head down on flat side of round anvil.

Step 4

Leather strip positioned between halves of rivet

Place the top of the rivet through other hole and into the bottom half of the rivet.

Step 5

A hammer striking the rivet-setting tool

Align the concave end of the setting tool on the rivet. Strike end of setting tool with hammer to set the rivet. Repeat hammer strike as needed.
