This tool stretches the metal shank of stone-set rings or wedding bands, enlarging the ring size when other stretchers cannot be used. Sold with a wooden storage box and includes 17 polished roller dies (8 half-round dies, 8 V dies and 1 plain die) for ring sizes 5 and up.
Instructions
Attach the ring stretcher to a sturdy surface (screws not included).
Turn the chrome plated handle counterclockwise to open.
Select a die that best matches the ring shank (half-round, "V" or plain), then match the width of the die's groove to the ring.
Lift the chrome-plated pin, place the selected die on top of the black gear (the hole in the die goes over the peg on the gear), then replace the pin.
Place the ring to be stretched onto the shaft connected to the base and tighten the handle.
Continue tightening while rotating the handle 360 degrees to stretch a plain band or back and forth for a ring with setting.
Use caution when stretching rings with set stones.
