What does 8x10mm glass bead mean?

In beads we measure two directions. A center drilled 8x10mm bead will measure end to end 10mm through the center of the bead in one direction, and then ninety degrees from that axis will measure 8mm side to side. If the bead is top drilled, it would usually mean the widest point, side to side, is 8mm and the longest length top to bottom is 10mm. And glass is the material it is made of.
